Rank | Team | Reason |
---|
| Purdue | No change here, still looking great |
| Kansas | Close call against TCU which will serve as a reminder there are few easy games in the B12 |
| Houston | I still want to see how they fare against B12 competition (not counting WVU as competition) |
| UConn | They still looking extremely solid and are well in line for a top seed in March |
| North Carolina | They showed in Clemson they're the top dog in the ACC. |
| Tennessee | After struggling early they are looking as good as anyone right now. That's what a tough OOC schedule can do for a good team |
| Marquette | Losing in South Orange looks like the norm for the Big East this year. They'll bounce back |
| Arizona | They wanted to make amends after losing to Stanford. Impressive showing this week. |
| Illinois | Illinois looks like they belong, even in losses. But they haven't won against a ranked team yet. |
| Memphis | As their top wins falter (UVA, TAMU, Clemson, Arkansas) I wonder if they're ranked too high here. I'm curious to see what they'll do in AAC play |
| Oklahoma | B12 play is going to serve a real test as to how good this OU team really is. |
| Kentucky | The more and more we move away from that UNCW loss the better UK looks. |
| Clemson | Lost to 10+ to UNC and Miami to start their ACC schedule. Sign of previous overperforming or just touch scheduling? We'll know soon. |
| BYU | Tough start in the Big 12. Not going to overreact too much on it but I'm less confident in BYU now than I was last week |
| South Carolina | They were tested against Mississippi St after a questionnable OOC schedule and they answered. |
| Wisconsin | On their day, Wisconsin is a top 10 team in the country. Can they find their consistency? |
| Baylor | I don't have a good feel on this Baylor team. They could be 10 spots too low or too high I don't know. |
| Colorado State | It's going to be tough getting a road win against one of the top 6 MWC teams. Colo St couldn't do it at USU but I wouldn't worry about it too much |
| Auburn | Did someone have a better Saturday? Impressive showing in Arkansas |
| Grand Canyon | They can't afford an error in WAC play but their SDSU win is enough to have them ranked right now |
| Ole Miss | I'm not going to overreact on one game. Ole Miss might not have the greatest OOC resume but they still beat two tourney teams in Memphis and NC St. |
| Duke | I want to rank them higher, but they need to show me some consistency in ACC play |
| Nevada | Did what they were supposed to do. If they stay good at home and don't get bad losses, they should be there in March |
| San Diego State | cf. Nevada |
| Providence | Losing Hopkins will definitely hurt them a lot. But I'll keep them in the top 25 for a lack of a better option for now. |
