Equivalent-Yard3824's Week 12 Ballot

RankTeamReason
Auburn (+0) Two solid wins without Broome really emphasize the depth of this team, with multiple secondary playmakers like CBM, Pettiford and Kelly behind the NPOY candidate.
Duke (+0) Bouyed by the D early in the year, the Offense is starting to catch up, Gillis has woken up in conference play and Evans is making a case for more of Foster's minutes. Good to see consistent D ev
Iowa State (+0) They were going to lose eventually, but a conference road game against a WVU team with a killer instinct isn't a bad loss. They won't shoot single digit % from 3 again.
Alabama (+1) After a quiet start to the season, Sears has really come back to life lately and led this offense back to the heights of last year. Not having a 3rd plus shooter behind him and Holloway could be
Florida (-1) The beatdown of Tennessee proved the non-Con wasn't a fluke, but just 3-2 through one of the easier stretches they'll face in SEC play isn't the best sign for their F4 hopes.
Houston (+4) They've still yet to capture that elite victory, but mostly breezy 6-0 start to B12 play shows why many were high on this team through the Non-Con. Toughing out a win over UCF without Cryer or Sh
Kentucky (+4) The metrics are still iffy, especially defensively, but the results speak for themselves going toe to toe with two top 5 teams in recent weeks with two other ranked victories in between.
Tennessee (-2) The stink of the 30 pt drubbing was just starting to go away but a tough loss to Vandy where they trailed for double digits much of the 2nd half sets them back again.
Purdue (+7) TKR and Braden Smith are playing out of their minds lately, and Purdue's quality of play has continued to rise culminating in a huge road win over Oregon
Michigan State (+7) The lack of any 3pt shooting leaves me doubting their March validity, but credit where credit is due, this team is balling, though they might've got some help from the Zebras to take down Illinoi
Kansas (-3) Aside from the Duke game, Kansas hasn't really 'gotten up' for a big time game this season and I'm worried they just don't have that gear.
Marquette (-6) Kam Jones is amazing, but I wonder if he's hitting a bit of a wall having to do-it-all for this team. Just 2-16 from deep this week might be a sign of dead legs.
Mississippi State (-1) Miss State was +22 on the boards and +11 on ORebs against Ole Miss in a win they desperately needed.
Texas A&M (-5) A collection of solid wins, but still missing the crown jewel, the chuck it up and get our own miss strategy doesn't work when you face elite offenses or good rebounding teams.
Illinois (+0) Learning moment for KJ not to let frustration get to him, if he plays more than 9 minutes they very likely get a huge road victory.
Ole Miss (+5) Beating Alabama was huge since their best win was @ Lville before, forcing their slower pace on Alabama was hugely impressive.
Oregon (-3) I think great coaching has this team winning games they shouldn't and outplaying their talent leading to being 6-1 in 'Close Games' and a resume that doesn't match the Metrics
Texas Tech (+8) Finally I don't have to be embarassed to include TTU in my polls, taking ISU to overtime and dominating Arizona down the stretch shows the heights this team can reach.
West Virginia (+12) Gonzaga, Arizona, Kansas, and Iowa State is about as good a collection of pelts as any team has.
Wisconsin (+8) If you ignore the one bad week in December, this team is 15-0 and 3-0 in Q1 games
UConn (-3) Can we talk about Hurley not even getting a tech during that game, pathetic.
Louisville (+8) No bad losses, but no great wins, still a handful of solid wins in Clemson, @ Pitt, UNC prove they're the 2nd best team in the ACC right now
Michigan (-4) Barely hanging onto a ranking, just 3-3 in Q2 games and no marquee wins, they get a chance to prove it @ Purdue next week.
Memphis (-4) Aside from UNT the American is a minefield of bad losses, for Memphis's sake I hope they don't take more than 1-2 more.
Clemson (+7) For such a veteran team they had some weird lapses in the Non-Con, but seem to be locked in for ACC play taking down Pitt on the road was big to solidify themselves in the top 3 of the ACC
