| 2 | Tennessee | Tennessee has proven again and again that they can win games, they are better than Houston, Arizona, and Alabama who easily complete the top 5 teams. I feel that any of those 3 could each one another |
| 3 | Houston | Houston still isnt as dominate as they were before they played Tulsa, they probably deserve to be lower in my opinion, but I can't reason with how Arizona or Alabama could be better |
| 4 | Arizona | Arizona is improving since their loss to Oregon 2 weeks ago, redeeming them selves against Washington State Earns them the 4 spot |
| 5 | Alabama | Alabama is sadly the odd man out of my top 5 rankings, they're a great team but they haven't has a major test since Arkansas over 2 weeks ago, I see a loss or two in their future and soon! |
| 6 | Virginia | Their one loss in the new year is all that is keeping them out of the top 5, they could enter the top 5 if Houston or Alabama falls |
| 7 | Texas | Texas has a tough stretch coming up here very soon, this is their make or break stretch coming up, they'll be in the top 5 or out of the top 15 in two weeks, and its in their hands where they end up |
| 8 | Kansas State | With a tough schedule ahead they will get the opportunity to enter the top 5 |
| 9 | Iowa State | Their win over K-State boost them up, but I still think at the end of the day Kansas State is the better team, and would have won if the game was at home |
| 10 | UCLA | UCLA is the team that I could rank anywhere between 10 and 20, they get a 10 this week because they got beat by my listed #4 Arizona their loss to USC should have been avoided... |
| 11 | TCU | TCU is just out of my top 10 they're above Baylor for now, lose and they fall |
| 12 | Baylor | A win against Texas, and they will jump into my top 10, as well as just TCU in my rankings |
| 13 | Auburn | 5 good wins and 2 bad losses since their January 4th matchup, they need to keep their winning energy up or they will fall fast! |
| 14 | Kansas | Kansas isn't as good as people have been saying they are, and they've done nothing but prove it in their last 3 games, to get into my top 10 they're going to need to beat Kentucky by 10, & beat K-Stat |
| 15 | Xavier | They are good, but not great, their stagnant performance against Creighton may be their demise of getting back into the top 13, if they lose to Providence they'll have bigger issues |
| 16 | Gonzaga | With a great recovery after their loss to LMU they land at the 16 spot, they're not great, they're good, but need to improve with their moderately weak schedule |
| 17 | UConn | A loss to Xavier hurts, 1 win in their last 5 games hurts even more, they're trending down at the wrong time, once a top 3 team, may be on their way out. |
| 18 | Florida Atlantic | Maybe the best story of the year in my opinion, one loss all season clear back in November gets them in the top 20. The issue here is there's not a ton of room for improvement with their schedule |
| 19 | Clemson | They're better than all the teams below them, and could beat15-18 on a good day, they're ranked and deserve it |
| 20 | Marquette | With their one big recent loss to ranked Xavier they're a good team, the Big East is a hard place to play and rightfully gets them into the top 20 |
| 21 | New Mexico | A very hot start, a cold middle, and now they're picking it back up again, they're like a frozen corn dog, are they going to put themselves back in the microwave, or be a disappointment |
| 22 | Saint Mary's | They're good, maybe better than Gonzaga, and my favorite for the West Coast Conference tournament champion. I think they could go far in March |
| 23 | Illinois | Indiana, and Rutgers could also go in this spot, but both fall right outside my top 25, and Illinois gets in Rutgers has the better record, but I think Illinois is better |
| 24 | Creighton | Did you see what they did to Xavier... that's top 25 worthy, if they keep it up they could sneak into the top 20 if they win out until they play UCcon |
| 25 | Duke | Dear Duke please be more consistent, I can't tell if you really want to be ranked, you've got a chance to prove yourself, do it now! |
