willweaverrva's Week 16 Ballot

RankTeamReason
UConn I'm not sure there's a team in this country that can beat UConn right now. 14 straight wins (6 of which are Q1).
Houston Houston is 1st in NET, 1st in KenPom, 1st in Torvik, but they're just not as consistent as UConn right now. They leapfrog Purdue due to stronger recent wins.
Arizona Arizona is a 1-seed in the NCAA's bracket preview and they're playing like it. After stumbling earlier, they've trended up since.
Duke I am not a Duke fan. However, they didn't lose. They're ranked higher than UNC (who beat them) because UNC shouldn't have lost to Syracuse.
Illinois This may be too high but there was enough chaos that I think it's justified.
Purdue Purdue, you lost to a team that just fired their coach. That's just embarrassing.
Tennessee
Marquette Marquette's loss to UConn is one of the worst losses Shaka Smart has experienced as a coach, but then again, it was UConn. Still, people saying I was too high on them are vindicated.
Alabama The Crimson Tide may have found their mojo again after falling to Auburn. The #1 offense in the nation puts up two straight 100-point games against not-too-bad opponents.
North Carolina
Iowa State
Auburn Bruce Pearl's locker room pep talk was not very effective.
Saint Mary's Dropped Saint Mary's a spot. I am still high on them, and no, I am not going to stop unless they lose. They beat Gonzaga (#14 on this ballot) and have favorable metrics.
Gonzaga
Washington State Washington State is about to get a real test as they play Arizona this week. We'll soon find out if they're for real.
Kansas Kansas needs to find some consistency fast. They get an upset, then lose to a team they should beat, and so on. This is probably a bit generous.
Florida
South Carolina
Dayton Dayton struggling a bit with Fordham worries me a bit, and their schedule gets tougher with a strong George Mason and resurgent Loyola Chicago and VCU teams ahead. The Flyers will be tested.
Virginia UVA needs to find some offense fast or they're going to have a hard time with tough Virginia Tech and UNC games coming up.
San Diego State New to this week's ballot. Good wins over solid Colorado State and New Mexico teams
Baylor New to this week's ballot. Jayden Nunn is a monster and has given Baylor a real shot in the arm.
Colorado State
Utah State Utah State has picked a bad time to get inconsistent, especially with a resurgent San Diego State coming to town.
South Florida New to this week's ballot. Okay, USF, you're one of the hottest teams in the country and just knocked off Florida Atlantic, and are a big surprise in the AAC this season. Have a vote. You deserve it.
