bkervick's Week 16 Ballot

RankTeamReason
UConn -- 2nd 100 game score of the last 3 weeks Won 2 Big East games by 36 (on the road) and 28 against my former #6 team.
Houston Up 1. Made easy work of Texas, 99 game score. Their 12th 99+ game score of the year.
Purdue Down 1. 3 of their worst 5 performances of the year have come in their last 5 games.
Arizona -- Made easy work of Arizona St, 99 game score. Too big of a gap to catch Purdue in both resume and power, but closed the gap substantially.
Tennessee Up 3. Played 2 week teams, but rebounded from worst performance of the season last week with 100 and 98 game scores.
Alabama Up 4. Nice margin home win against Texas A&M.
Kansas Down 2. Got absolutely demolished on the road at Tech, but bounced back with good road win over Oklahoma.
Marquette Down 2. Got run out of the building on the road by #1, but good road win over likely tournament team Butler also.
Illinois Up 2. Picked up a Q1 road win at Maryland in a lighter week.
North Carolina Down 3. Gave Syracuse only its 2nd Q1 win of the season, and then handled Va Tech at home.
Iowa State Up 6. Re-adjusted (and I'll still be low). 4 straight 98+ game scores. Top 10 WAB and top 10 most analytics.
Creighton -- Solid week getting big margin road win at Butler and otherwise handling business.
Auburn Down 4. Huge margin win over South Carolina, but then dropped a home game to Kentucky by double digits.
Duke Down 1. 2 quad 2 wins this week by appropriate margins. Got jumped by an Iowa St re-adjustment by me.
Baylor Down 1. 2 good wins by appropriate margin.
San Diego State Up 3. 2 really nice double digit Q1 home wins this week.
Dayton Up 1. Light week, pulled away late from Duqesne to prevent disaster.
Florida New. Now top 20 on Torvik and top 20 WAB.
Saint Mary's Up 6. 13 straight wins, though more than half are Q4. Hitting strong margins though.
Texas Tech Up 2. Took a tough away loss to Iowa St in a chance to really make noise, but put an absolute beatdown on Kansas at home.
Utah State -- 2 poor game scores this week. Jumped by 3 teams, but chaos above them keeps them flat.
Kentucky New. Really great double digit win at Auburn and nice margin win against likely tourny team Ole MIss at home gets them back in,
Colorado State New. Well somebody else had to get in. Top 25 in WAB and top 36 in power metrics gets them in despite loss at SDSU.
Washington State New. 7 game win streak in a major conference. 26th in WAB and top 40 in the power metrics gets them in.
Wisconsin Down 5. Losers of 5 of 6, but 4 of the 5 have been on the road and the other was home to Purdue. Was just top 16 in bracket reveal and still 21 in WAB.

Overall Rationale

Out: South Carolina (from 15). You can't lose by 40 and then a Q3 game in the same week when you already have bad power numbers and not drop more than 10 spots. Indiana State (from 16). Can't lose a Quad 4 game by double digits and not drop more than 10 spots. BYU (from 23) Down to 6-6 in B12 and lost to Ok St. Virginia (from 24). Home loss to mediocre team. Also considered (in no order): Like everyone. Ole Miss, Virginia, BYU, South Carolina, New Mexico, TCU, Northwestern, Indiana St, Michigan St (won't be shocked if they get in next week), Clemson, Miss St, Oklahoma
