gohogs1995's Week 2 Ballot

RankTeamReason
Kansas --, Looked like they should against weaker competition, excited to see how they look with some big games coming up
Arizona +7, Best win so far early in the year, defense looked very good, Caleb Love hates Duke
Purdue -1, did what they should in their first 2 games
UConn -1, Took care of business
Houston +1, Defense still looks elite for the Cougars
Creighton +1, 3pt shooting is gonna be deadly this year, top of the BE is gonna be insane
Tennessee +8, Had them lower to start but with Zeigler's early return I'll move them to where I thought they'd be with him. Knecht looks very good early, potential game changer for them this year
Marquette --, Offense will probably carry them most games, defense might hold them back a bit
Duke -5, Close loss at home to start the year but it was against a good team. Didn't feel like they deserved to drop out of the T10 since the game could've gone either way
Texas A&M +1, Impressive win on the road, probably won't struggle as much in the non-con as they have in previous years
Gonzaga -1, Not too much learned from their first game, offense should be good again, defense is a question mark
Arkansas --, Can the Hogs actually shoot this year? Made more 3s in game 1 than we did in any game last year and shot nearly 40% over the first 2 games
Florida Atlantic --, Beat an ok Loyola team, probably won't know too much more about them until until the play Illinois early in December
Villanova --, Looked good against some very low level competition, upcoming games will give us a better idea of how good they are
Miami (FL) +1, A decent win against UCF, the defense has looked better so far than the projections had them. Big games for them coming up soon
Baylor +3, Impressive win against Auburn after they trailed for a lot of the game, their guards will be great for them this year.
USC +5, Better win so far than the teams directly behind them. Guards look great so far, hopefully Bronny gets cleared so we can see what he can do
Alabama -1, Great offense with some iffy defense is more in line with previous Bama teams. Felt like it would be hard to replicate last year's defense with the players they lost but plenty of season left
Texas -1, Probably won't know much about Texas until they play Marquette, will be a big game for them since they don't have many big opportunities on the non-con schedule
Kentucky --, first two games went as expected, huge game this week will throw a young team into the fire early
Memphis New, A very impressive second half on the road both on offense and defense, would love for Arkansas to matchup with them in a few weeks
Oregon New, Georgia isn't an overly impressive win but I thought they looked very good even thought they were missing some key players
North Carolina New, Some solid offensive performances week 1 but the defense probably could use a little work. The experience on this team should help them have a better year
Virginia New, Might be a bit of an overreaction, but I liked what I saw in their win over Florida
Auburn --, Lost to Baylor but I thought they looked good despite that and didn't deserve to drop from the rankings

Overall Rationale

Dropped Out: Michigan State, SDSU, Maryland, SMC Others Considered: Colorado, Indidana, TCU, Illinois, UCLA, Miss State, JMU Eye test, current rosters, big wins, and a little analytics helped with this ranking (I'll probably factor the computer rankings in more as they get more reliable as the season goes on)
