| 2 |  Gonzaga | Zags put everyone on notice with a 40 point thrashing of a good Baylor team, still seems to hasty to move them to #1 though. |
| 3 |  Duke | This team tends to start out slow before turning up the jets in the second half, they've still thrashed everyone they've played though. |
| 4 |  Auburn | Impressive win over Houston, not to mention winning by like 70 over Vermont, terrifying defense. |
| 5 |  Kansas | Showed some good resolve to shut down UNC's comeback. |
| 6 |  Houston | Kept it close against Auburn, feel like that loss was more of an indictment on how good Auburn is. |
| 7 |  North Carolina | Showed great perseverance to come back from 20 down in the Phog, just couldn't close it out. |
| 8 |  UConn | Solid showings early, not much to say. |
| 9 |  Tennessee | Killed Louisville at the Yum!, Tennessee looks scary defensively for sure. |
| 10 |  Iowa State | I still like ISU but everyone above them here has looked more impressive. |
| 11 |  Arizona | Good start for the wildcats of the west. |
| 12 |  Purdue | Close game against A&M-CC aside, Purdue looks pretty good so far. |
| 13 |  Kentucky | I'm all in Pope and this team, but they need to clean up some sloppiness on both ends of the floor. |
| 14 |  Illinois | I'm fairly high on the Illini early, liking what I've seen out of Ivisic. |
| 15 |  Baylor | Had to drop them because of their horrific loss to Gonzaga but still bounced back to beat Army, they'll be fine. |
| 16 |  Arkansas | I've not been too impressed by Arkansas, Lippy kept them honest for awhile and then looked just okay against Baylor. |
