Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Auburn | Best win in the opening week, looked very strong against Houston. Additionally, they had the blowout of a Vermont team expected to win their conference, I think they are the current best team. |
| Gonzaga | The absolute demolition of Baylor really makes me think Gonzaga is one of, if not the best team in the country. Baylor then beating Arkansas really makes it look like an excellent win. |
| UConn | Didn't play anyone good, but I can't bring myself to drop them too much aside from the teams that played absolutely stellar this week. Their SOS is too weak right now for me to put them higher. |
| Kansas | Quality win over UNC, it was at home so it would've been nice for it to be by a little, more, but still an excellent win. |
| Duke | Didn't play anyone, similar to UConn, but still looked amazing in their routs. |
| Iowa State | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
| Arizona | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
| Alabama | Did not play anyone good, won pretty easy, although Ark St. put up a fight, which is not great to see. |
| Houston | Even though they lost to Auburn, it was a very strong showing, and they still are a great team. |
| Purdue | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
| Tennessee | Decent win over a Louisville team that seems significantly better than last year, but I don't know how good that win will end up being. Handled Gardner-Webb, but a little closer than it should be. |
| North Carolina | Barely lost a close game to one of the top teams in the country, Still think they are a great team. |
| Creighton | Little closer vs UTRGV than preferable, but doesn't drop them that much |
| Baylor | Dog walked by Gonzaga, but a good win vs Arkansas Keeps them somewhat higher than maybe they should be. Easily the toughest two opening games, so as a BU fan, happy to go 1-1. |
| Marquette | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
| Cincinnati | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
| Indiana | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
| Ohio State | Great win vs Texas, Maybe should be higher based on how I've been ranking ,as that's one of the best performances so far this year, but I think most of the above teams beat Ohio St more often than not |
| Texas Tech | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
| St. John's | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
| Oregon | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
| Illinois | Did not play anyone good, won easily. I think they were on the bubble for me pre-season, so they get in on the misfortune of others. |
| UCF | Good win over Texas A&M I think, very shaky though against IPFW. Not sure how to rank them but the win vs A&M is a great one, so I think they should be in the top 25. |
| New Mexico | Good win over UCLA. I don't think they'll stay in my top 25, but I can't think of another team that fits with how I'm trying to rank. |
| Arkansas | A good team, but lost a close one to Baylor. Still think they are top 25, they just actually played a good team unlike a lot of other current teams in the conversation. |
