I generally think these competitive marquee matchups speak more highly of the teams that won than they suggest anything underwhelming about the teams that lost. Hence big jumps for virgina, illinois, msu, but not-quite-comparable drops for teams like ucla. Other new teams entering the rankings are mostly a subjective assessment of unbeatens that have looked the most impressive so far
