Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Auburn | I think they will remain at 1 here for the time being. They play a few more really tough teams in a few weeks, but they still have the best win in College basketball right now. |
| Gonzaga | They're so good. They definitely could've done better vs AZ St., But they dismantled UMass Lowell afterward, which isn't necessarily a great win, but top half ranking in Kenpom and they won by 59. |
| UConn | They still haven't played anyone, but until they show otherwise they have to stay up near the top. Very excited to watch them play Baylor (please don't also beat us by 40) |
| Kansas | Good win over Michigan State, stayed close as I think was expected but closed it out with a W. Glad they keep playing good teams, I have them and UConn very close. |
| Purdue | Awesome win over Alabama. I think that it's arguable they should've jumped more spots, but I didn't have Bama too high on my list, but they are very close in my mind to the 2 teams above them. |
| Iowa State | Play someone good please. (Very excited for Auburn game) |
| Houston | They didn't play anyone, just rose on the account of everyone I had higher losing. Still like the close loss to Auburn. |
| Tennessee | Didn't play anyone, but wins are wins and they still look solid. |
| North Carolina | They didn't play anyone, just rose on the account of everyone I had higher losing. |
| Creighton | Didn't play anyone, but wins are wins and they still look solid. |
| Marquette | Well fought to come back and take down Maryland. I think this may be the ceiling I have for them this season as they play Purdue, but as of right now I like them this high. |
| Kentucky | Well played to Take down Duke. They are a very solid team, and I think early season rankings are very volatile, so they shoot up quick in my opinion. |
| Wisconsin | This shocks me that I'm putting them this high, but a 15 point win over a top 10 team needs to be respected, and they haven't faltered in any other match. Do they stay here? That remains to be seen. |
| Duke | Quality loss! They are still a very solid squad, Flagg is great, and we will (unfortunately too much) hear that a lot this year. |
| Baylor | Our offense looked really strong, so I'm hoping we worked out the kinks from our Zags game. They may have that loss, but the quality win is better than a lot of other 1 loss teams, and I'm also biased |
| Alabama | They only beat McNeese by single digits, and they couldn't keep up with Purdue. I think they may be worse than 15, but they have a lot of talent. (and this is already lower than consensus by a lot) |
| UCF | Very high on UCF personally, especially after A&M beat Ohio State. FAU did play them close, but they are winning the close games they play. |
| Arizona | 15 point loss to their first test of the season is not great, and Wisconsin wasn't really considered that highly prior to this game. They can bounce back easy though against Duke. (With a win) |
| Indiana | They got a good win against a not so good South Carolina squad, want to see them play someone on top 25 caliber for them to move up. |
| Texas A&M | Great bounce back win against Ohio St. Actually put them above where maybe people could expect because I like teams actually playing other good squads and getting Ws. |
| Texas Tech | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
| Cincinnati | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
| St. John's | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
| Memphis | I think they slipped under my nose last week. This is a very solid team with some good wins |
| Illinois | Did not play anyone good, won easily |
