| 6 | Kentucky | (+4) great win against a very good duke team. mark pope adjustments made the difference here, I just wonder if this team has more room to grow or if they are closer to their ceiling than we realize. |
| 7 | Duke | (-2) i think the game against kentucky showed that they still have room to grow, but i have a feeling they will surpass kentucky by the end of the season. |

| 10 | Baylor | (+2) is currently destroying tarleton state as i type this. |
| 11 | Tennessee | (+3) i think the big win against austin peay is actually a pretty good win. |
| 12 | Purdue | (+5) the offense is really fun to watch, especially with that home crowd going nuts. I do have concerns about how they will perform away from home |
| 13 | Alabama | (-5) the game against purdue demonstrated the flaws of this offensive system. i thought the defense could have been way better too. |
| 14 | Arizona | (-8) wow this defense is swiss cheese. arizona really struggled on the road but wisconsin proved theyre a good team. |
| 15 | Creighton | (--) win over kansas city doesn't really show us much. |
| 16 | Wisconsin | (NR) normally i would put wisconsin ahead of the team they beat, especially early in the season, but i can't shake the feeling that wisconsin played out of their minds and will come back down to earth |
| 17 | Arkansas | (-1) i think this team will take a minute to gel. they have the talent though. |
| 18 | Cincinnati | (--) need them to start playing better teams so we can get a better read on their success. |
| 19 | Utah State | (+1) same as cincinnati. iowa game this friday should be telling. |
| 20 | Indiana | (+2) thoroughly handled a meh south carolina team. unfortunately i don't see too many good challenges on their schedule for a while. |
| 21 | Marquette | (-2) I feel like marquette is just barely skating by right now. have not been impressed with their results so far. |
| 22 | Florida | (+2) looked impressive in their win over florida state. I was concerned that off-court issues would affect them. |
| 23 | Texas A&M | (--) I know people were high on ohio state because they beat texas, but the thing is, texas isn't good right now. a&m handled ohio st like they should. oregon and creighton will be good indicators. |
| 24 | LSU | (NR) I really like their win against kansas state, and it gave me a reason to rank an lsu team that i felt was flying a bit under the radar. i think their game against pitt coming up will be a banger. |
| 25 | St. John's | (NR) New mexico is a good win. I haven't been sold yet on this team but the game against baylor this week will show what st. johns is made of. |
