Yoshi111599's Week 4 Ballot

RankTeamReason
Auburn +0, Auburn stays my #1 team, we'll see how the Maui Invitational goes with a game against Iowa State scheduled and other great teams in the tournament as well
Gonzaga +1, Gonzaga has multiple quality wins, and I can't keep them any lower, with Kentucky and UConn left on the schedule #1 is definitely possible
Houston -1, Their resume is a loss to Auburn and 3 blowouts against Mid/Low Majors, I'm sticking to my preseason take that this is a top team until proven otherwise
Tennessee +4, Wins over Louisville and now Virginia and Baylor, they look great
Kansas -1, Tennessee's win jumps Kansas whose resume essentially stands pat
Duke +1, The Arizona win legitimizes this ranking, the only blemish being a loss to Kentucky
Iowa State -2, Their best win is UMKC and they have played less games than every other team on this list, Auburn is next on the schedule though
UConn -2, 4 wins over cupcakes and I'm not too excited, Maui Invitational should help shake up the top of this ranking though
Alabama +2, I give them credit for wins over McNeese and Arkansas State who are better squads than their name recognition might lead you to think, The Illinois win and Purdue loss kinda cancel out for me
Marquette +5, Big week for Marquette who now has wins over Purdue, Georgia, and Maryland, as well as George Mason
Kentucky +1, Lipscomb is a solid mid major and all, but Kentucky's resume remains about the same
Cincinnati +5, This is where I'm going to start to take a stand, I think Cincinnati is really good, the resume hasn't caught up just yet but they do have a power 5 win now in GT
Mississippi State +6, I know I'm a little bit on my own with this take but I really like MissSt this year, they add 2 major conference wins to the resume and get a nice jump for it
Purdue -5, Couldn't decide what to do here, Purdue has played some Mid Majors closer than u'd like and has a loss, but also holds a win over Bama in the profile, tough call but I dropped them a bit
North Carolina -1, Not a very busy week for UNC, they essentially stand pat
Wisconsin +7, They back up their Arizona win with wins over UCF and Pitt, both decent opponents, that's enough for me to believe they're the real deal
Texas A&M +5, Some of these early 1 loss teams are gonna start creeping back up my rankings and A&M is just a team I believe in, despite the UCF loss that actually looks worse now than it did at the time
Texas +6, Texas added Syracuse and St. Joe's to their list of wins, and I'm willing to overlook the early OSU loss, for now
BYU +2, They're undefeated with their marquee win being... UC Riverside... by only 6, They play Ole Miss next for their first real test
Creighton -10, Tough rank, they have beaten essentially no one although UTRGV is feisty, and a loss to unranked Nebraska in their first test is not great, but I couldn't drop them all the way out
Baylor -3, What am I supposed to think about Baylor..., Losses to Zaga and Tenn, getting blown out early in both, but wins over Saint John's and Arkansas
Texas Tech -2, Ultimately a win over Syracuse helps to cover a loss to a Saint Joe's team that while good, TTU really should've taken care of
Ohio State NR, Win over Texas, loss to A&M, and some cupcakes, they return to the top 25 following the rise of both Texas & A&M
Florida NR, Not a team i was particularly high on early, 6-0 with some decent mid major wins as well as Florida State, still not sure how good this team is though
Indiana NR, I'm clearly lower on this team than most, a win over South Carolina is the only thing that stands out so far, and SC likely isn't anywhere near the team we saw last year.

Overall Rationale

Illinois, Arizona, Saint John's, UCLA, and Memphis first 5 out
