| Kansas | Unchanged from last week |
| UConn | Unchanged from last week |
| Purdue | Unchanged from last week |
| Baylor | Unchanged from last week |
| Marquette | Dominant wins against Texas and Notre Dame. Have found the 3 point shooting. Rebounding remains the issue. |
| Creighton | Have bounced back since their loss against Colorado State. Relatively weak SOS this year, but it will pick up once conference play starts. |
| Oklahoma | Undefeated - playing well. |
| Clemson | Undefeated - playing well. |
| North Carolina | Tough loss at home against the defending Natty Champs. Fantastic team chemistry overall. |
| James Madison | Dukes still undefeated. Dukes keep rising. |
| Ole Miss | Undefeated with some quality wins the last few weeks. |
| Kentucky | Bounceback win against Penn in their only game of the week. Big matchup against UNC this week. |
| Florida Atlantic | Still high on this team. Arizona looming next week. |
| Gonzaga | Tough loss against Washington. |
| Colorado State | Tough loss against a Saint Mary's team that has been bad. |
| Wisconsin | A loss to Arizona does not diminish their other big wins this year. I should have had them ranked last week. |
| Virginia | Have found an offensive groove since their Feast Week tournament. |
| Memphis | Good wins against VCU and TAMU. Two big home matchups against Clemson and Virginia this week. |
| Duke | Dominated Charlotte after a week of poor results. Not sure what to make of this Duke team...but I still think they belong in the Top 25. |
| Alabama | Played Purdue well. |
| Tennessee | Have played well since their gauntlet of games - that were all close losses. |
| Texas | Bad losses against good teams, but dominating everyone else. |
| Illinois | Sometimes they look like world beaters. Other times they self-destruct. |
Out: Texas A&M, Princeton, Cincinnati, Miami, BYU Hard to pick after the top 8. Feels right to reward Clemson, Ole miss, and JMU for stellar seasons so far.
