Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Purdue | LW: 1 Nothing really changed for the top 4, no big matchups the past week as is the case for all my top 5 |
| UConn | LW: 2 (-) |
| Kansas | LW: 3 (-) |
| Houston | LW: 4 (-) |
| Arizona | LW: 6 (+1) |
| UCLA | LW: 7 (+1) |
| Tennessee | LW: 8 (+1) |
| Texas | LW: 9 (+1) |
| Gonzaga | LW: 10 (+1) |
| Alabama | LW: 11 (+1) |
| Arkansas | LW: 12 (+1) |
| Virginia | LW: 5 (-7) ... perhaps this drop is still too harsh given the close loss on the road to a ranked team, but this is where I have Virginia this week. |
| Baylor | LW: 14 (+1) |
| Kentucky | LW: 16 (+2) |
| Xavier | LW: 17 (+2) ... lower in most rankings than WVU, but they have the h2h |
| West Virginia | LW: 18 (+2) ... KenPom is criminally low on these guys, 19th in SoR and 11th in Torvik and Net |
| Memphis | LW: 19 (+2) |
| Duke | LW: 13 (-5) ... bad loss to Wake, but I like this team more than Auburn |
| Auburn | LW: 20 (+1) |
| Indiana | LW: 21 (+1) |
| Miami (FL) | LW: NR ... I understand they have a better record and beat Virginia, but viewing both teams as a whole I still think Virginia is better given it was only a 2pt road loss for the Hoos |
| Wisconsin | LW: 25 (+3) ... see the below comments |
| New Mexico | LW: NR ... could have a big test this week against Colorado State |
| Saint Mary's | LW: NR |
| Virginia Tech | LW: 22 (-3) ... see below |
OUT: Illinois (15) Mississippi State (23), Arizona State (24); 26-30: Illinois, Maryland, Mississippi State, Florida Atlantic, North Carolina | Va Tech remains in as the NET, Torvik and KenPom rankings are high enough to keep them in. Wisconsin was is lower in the aforementioned rankings, but is help up well thanks to its SoS (21) and SoR (12) being top 25 in the country.
