| 5 | Houston | Only top 10 team that hasn't been tested yet. I can't put them higher than 5 yet when everyone else has been putting it on the line so much already |
| 6 | Kentucky | Kentucky would be a top 5 team if not for the UNCW loss. I think UK takes the SEC this year |
| 7 | Marquette | Impressive second half rally against creighton. That wins games, but creighton also gave the game away. We will have to see how good of a resume win it really turns out to be |

| 12 | Arizona | Everyone has one bad game. Zona should be back in the top 10 soon enough. They do seem to have regressed lately for some reason. |
| 13 | Duke | maybe a hot take, but i only see Duke as having a single bad loss to GTech. |
| 14 | Memphis | the American league is theirs to lose |
| 15 | Baylor | on expectations alone I would put Baylor in the top 10, but its hard to not reward OU, Clemson, and BYU for their records |
| 16 | Illinois | this ranking has nothing to do with Terrance Shannon. |
| 17 | James Madison | undefeated 13 games in with 5 road games is impressive for any team |
| 18 | Ole Miss | I dont expect ole miss to stay ranked through january when conference play starts but great start so far. total 180 from last year |
| 19 | Wisconsin | 18-25 is entirely vibes based. Splitting hairs at this point. |
| 20 | Auburn | should easily be a top 5 SEC team this year |
| 21 | Colorado State | i struggle with Col. St. I don't know that I personally appreciate their resume. Ball don't lie though and its a great record on paper. |
| 22 | Texas | I dont have much faith in this team when conference play starts |
| 23 | Providence | Big east is really shallow this year so they have a good path to march if they steal one or two more big wins |
| 24 | San Diego State | great road win over the zags |
| 25 | Florida Atlantic | I flipped a coin over whether to unrank FAU or not. 2 good wins, but 2 HORRIBLE losses. Bipolar team |
Overall Rationale
Unranked: Gonzaga, Creighton There isn't a ton of separation amongst teams in my mind. Every 3-4 spots could easily be swapped around.
