Zloggt's Week Post-Season Ballot

RankTeamReason
Florida Maybe not the most talented or strongest team EVER...but come March, do you REALLY need it? As the Gata showed - you sometimes only need to the most CLUTCH when the time is right!
Houston Oh man...to think of what could have been, had the Coogs simply held on just a bit longer! Hopefully this is not the last time they'll be sniffing a title in the coming days...
Duke As with Florida - sometimes, being the most talented or strongest team will simply just not be enough...shame for Cooper (and all the other guys) for just coming up short, but that's life...
Auburn As an objective CBB fan...it's a shame that an Auburn team with such talent and vigor had ultimately come short in the Final Four. But as a Bruce Pearl disliker...it's not too bad...ha!
Michigan State These motherfucking Michigan State Spartans...how do they keep doing it?? They looked dead in the water for weeks...and then...BOOM! Izzo, you've made magic again!
Alabama From nearly losing to Robert Morris...to pulling off an all-time three-point performance against BYU...quite a wild ride it has been for the Tide...
Tennessee Another year, another Madness that Rick Barnes' Vols come up just short once again...it's tough to see, but also funny as well lol
Texas Tech T O R T I L L A ! T E C H ! An impressive run all the way to the Elite Eight! But alas...they had their chance to beat Florida...but the factory blew up instead...
St. John's 2024-25年回顾 Great Pitino Revival 大东区冠军 x2 but sadly undone early by Hog Man of Arkansas 祝你下次好运...
Maryland If you wanted to describe how college basketball is these days - from the glorious highs, to the terrible lows - then you got quite a perfect example in the form of Maryland's run (fuck KW)...
Michigan Oh fine...Dustin May was a great hire that unsurprisingly made the Wolverines competitive and contending once again...even after almost losing to UCSD...hmph...
Kentucky The start of the Pope Era has been pretty decent! Kentucky largely got their old groove back, and the Wildcats are once again in the title discussion! The ending wasn't great...but it's growing pains.
BYU Are Brigham and Kevin Young related? Probably not - regardless, the Younger Young has done quite well in Provo! And sure, BYU only got hot later in the season...but still! Not bad...
Purdue Hmph...I wasn't feeling too high on Purdue this year, but they done proved me wrong here...especially since they were 2-3 points away from a "home-court" E8 game...
Louisville Ugh...I guess I shouldn't have rated Louisville (and other non-Duke ACC teams at that) so high. But can you blame a guy for being impressed by their turnaround? Alas, Creighton had other plans...
Arizona Wildcats be wildin' - and wildin' they were, indeed! Strong start, meandering middle, and then some fantastic fighting at the finish! It's truly was a roller coaster in Tucson...
Wisconsin Can you tell my Big Ten bias might be at full-blast
Ole Miss I AM happy for the Ole Miss players AND the loyal Rebels fans whose team had managed to get going and become one of the bigger surprises of the NCAAT...I don't extend this fondness for HIM, though...
Iowa State It's rather unfortunate how such an impressive start from the Cyclones ultimately was for naught...damn injuries! All we can hope now is if Otzel and Company can run it back next season...hopefully!
Arkansas I'm probably STILL overrating what was generally JUST an ok Arkansas team overall...but considering who they beat (and who they almost beat)...I can't ignore that either...
Gonzaga Zags, you've done it again! For two years in a row now, I thought that the Bulldogs were out of it...but as the Georgia demolition (and the near-win against Houston) showed...you still got it!
Texas A&M The Aggies are...perhaps one of the more STRONGER beneficiaries of poll inertia in my case...I know that an early exit to cap off a end-of-season cooldown should be punished...but I can't help it...
Drake You did it, Drake! Yes, I was hoping that MY team wouldn't have to play against you - and thus, ended up as one of the few upset teams of the ENTIRE NCAAT - but all credit where it's due, Bulldogs!
Clemson Yeah...maybe I was a bit TOO nostalgic about their run last year (or just trying to avoid the "oh, easy upset pick!" trend) - but damn. Well...you'll get your shot at Wade again next year...
Colorado State Bit of a wild card pick, I know. But honestly - they soundly beat a decent Memphis team AND were a miracle shot away from a Sweet Sixteen appearance...so as far as wild cards go, CSU fits the bill!

Overall Rationale

Every five teams make up a single tier, for a total of five tiers overall. Also, care was taken in order to balance Tournament results and overall season performance (as to reduce the impact of recency bias on my ballot).
