Adding Uzan from OU is just a bonus. Once again Houston is loaded with talent and should be a championship favorite.
2
Iowa State
Were it not for this team running into an equally hot Illinois in the tournament last year, I would've liked their chances to bump off UConn. Quality returners, including a fiery Tamin Lipsey.
3
Alabama
Like it or not, Bama's a basketball school too. Their roster is stupid deep and they've got a potential Naismith POY in Sears.
4
UConn
Who am I to doubt to Hurley? Until he's actually a Laker or a Knick, UConn will be in the top tier. Karaban will remain great and Mahaney is gonna feast.
5
Kansas
Same goes for Bill Self. He's got an arguably way better roster this year from last year with potential through the roof.
6
Baylor
Roach, Omier, and VJE could be a three headed monster that will be very tough to deal with all year.
7
Gonzaga
It feels like this is a resurgence year even though one could argue the Zags never actually went away. But, here they are back in the spotlight and for good reason. Welcome to the PAC12.
8
Duke
Scheyer is cooking on the recruiting trail but will it translate to championship glory? Oh, and some hyped up dude from from Maine is here.
9
North Carolina
Great roster, but I feel far more twitchy about the coach than I do the players. The potential for great success is here, hopefully Hubert can continue to unlock it.
10
Tennessee
I love the pieces that Tennessee added in the portal. Lanier and Milicic should fit in well with the rest of the UT mainstays.
11
Xavier
Freemantle being back from injury to join McKnight and Sycamore transfer Ryan Conwell should scare some people.
12
Auburn
Three ways Auburn will be successful this year. Johnni Broome. Johnni Broome. Johnni Broome.
13
Creighton
Kalkbrenner, Ashworth returning along with TTU's Pop Isaacs and his scoring acumen joining the crew should make Creighton a formidable force yet again in the BEast.
14
Purdue
No Zach Edey? No problem. Purdue boasts a good back court and overall depth that the playmaking and efficiency shouldn't suffer that much this season.
15
Texas A&M
A picture of consistency if ever there was one. TAMU returns most of their starters that have guided them to some fairly successful seasons.
16
Arizona
While I like some of the transfers they've brought in, it does feel like this team will yet again live and die by Caleb Love, which has arguably taken them far?
17
Marquette
We don't need no stinkin' transfer portal. Not when you've got Kam Jones alongside a solid back court and consistent depth familiar with Shaka and his style of play.
18
Texas
Rodney Terry reloaded with some pretty interesting options going into next year. Pope and Mark can definitely put up big offensive numbers and freshman Tre Johnson should also add to the scoring mix.
19
Cincinnati
Strong transfer class to compliment the guys that stuck around ensure Wes Miller has a killer lineup going into next year.
20
Wake Forest
This will be the season Steve Forbes finally breaks through and get to the tournament. This roster should be too good to fail.
21
Indiana
By all accounts this crop of Hoosiers should be able to do enough to cool off the hot seat underneath Mike Woodson.
22
Michigan
There's no reason to think that Dusty May and the boys from FAU that he brought with him aren't up to the task of success at Michigan.
23
Kentucky
Whether it's Mark Pope or Rick Pitino actually coaching this team, Kentucky has a fresh and exciting new look with the staff and players that could take them far in conference play (and NCAA tourney)
24
Clemson
The days are Brad Brownell being assuredly on the hot seat are over (at least until these guys graduate).
25
Kansas State
Yet another complete KSU overhaul, but if anyone has the chutpaz, personality, and bravado to make it all work I put my money on Jerome Tang.
