Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Kansas | Top 7 teams are all super experienced and returning very talented players. |
| Alabama | |
| Houston | |
| Gonzaga | |
| Iowa State | |
| Baylor | |
| North Carolina | |
| Arizona | If Krivas can make a jump as a true starting center, this team is gonna be amazing |
| UConn | Hurley is great but this team lost a lot, I'll need to see some success |
| Duke | Not a huge believer in Flagg, it's a young team, they could be great but I won't say so yet |
| Auburn | |
| Creighton | |
| Texas A&M | |
| Arkansas | Johnell Davis has that dog in him, super high level of talent on this team but we have to see if they gel |
| Marquette | |
| Indiana | Super high on this roster but Woodson is incompetent until proven otherwise, hope to see them move higher quickly |
| Purdue | Not convinced the backcourt is gonna be that amazing without Edey, I could go lower on this rank but I'm being conservative |
| Tennessee | Not sold on their ability to keep producing with Knecht, Aidoo, and Awaka gone. Ziegler is great but he can't carry. |
| Texas | |
| Cincinnati | |
| St. John's | Solid roster and Pitino seemed to be putting things together as the season went on last year |
| Florida | |
| Kentucky | |
| Ole Miss | |
| Grand Canyon | Think this team is being overlooked, returning lots of talent, can't justify a higher rank in the preseason though |
The top 8 teams are nearly guaranteed to be solid in my opinion, lots of experience and talent. Indiana, Arkansas, UConn, and Duke I can certainly see moving up but it's gonna depend on how well they're coached. I feel like I'm undervaluing the Big East but it's challenging to find a spot for them with how good those top teams are.
